What is covered in this policy?

This privacy policy describes how and when I collect, use, and share information when you purchase an item from me, contact me, sign up to my newsletter or otherwise use my services through my website. This Privacy Policy does not apply to the practices of third parties that I do not own or control, including Wix, Mailchimp, Mailmunch, Etsy and any other third parties.

I may contact you to notify you regarding your account, to troubleshoot problems with your account, to poll your opinions through surveys or questionnaires, to send updates, or as otherwise necessary to contact you to enforce our User Agreement, applicable national laws, and any agreement we may have with you. For these purposes we may contact you via email, telephone, text messages, and postal mail. 

How personal data is collected?

I receive, collect and store any information you enter on my website or provide me with in any other way. In addition, I collect the Internet protocol (IP) address used to connect your computer to the Internet; login; e-mail address; password; computer and connection information and purchase history and may use software tools to measure and collect session information, including page response times, length of visits to certain pages, page interaction information, and methods used to browse away from the page. I also collect personally identifiable information (including name, email, password, communications); payment details (including credit card information), comments, feedback, product reviews, recommendations, and personal profile.

 

  • Orders:

As part of the buying and selling process, when you purchase an item from my website, personal data such as your name, address & email is given. This enables me to send your item & provides a contact to update you about your order. 

  • Newsletters:

As part of the newsletter opt-in, your email and name can be collected, to send you updates from my studio. I use Mailchimp to store your data and details of their privacy policy can be found here. 

The usage data Mailchimp collect may include [your IP address, geographical location, browser type and version, operating system, referral source, length of visit, page views and website navigation paths, as well as information about the timing, frequency and pattern of your service use].

  • Contact Forms:

As part of the contact form process, your personal information such as name and email address is given and I use these to get back to you about your query.

How is consent defined?

When an individual purchases something from my shop, they provide their personal information (such as name, address, email in order to receive their item. This constitutes as an agreement for me to process and use this data for the purpose intended.

When an individual signs up for my email newsletters using the forms provided online, they enter their name and email address. This data is collected and stored by Mailchimp. This constitutes as consent for me to use this data for the purpose intended.

Consent can be withdrawn at any time, by unsubscribing to my newsletter or you can email me at hello@cathycornish.co.uk.

Disclosure

We may disclose your personal data where such disclosure is necessary for compliance with a legal obligation to which we are subject.

Financial transactions relating to my website are handled by payment services providers, Wix [Wix Privacy Policy] & Etsy [Etsy Privacy Policy]. I do not have access to bank details or credit card details.

My website is hosted on the Wix.com platform. Wix.com provides me with the online platform that allows me to sell our products and services to you. Your data may be stored through Wix.com’s data storage, databases and the general Wix.com applications. They store your data on secure servers behind a firewall.

All direct payment gateways offered by Wix.com and used by me adhere to the standards set by PCI-DSS as managed by the PCI Security Standards Council, which is a joint effort of brands like Visa, MasterCard, American Express and Discover. PCI-DSS requirements help ensure the secure handling of credit card information by our store and its service providers.

Your Rights

If you reside in certain territories, including the EU, you have a number of rights in relation to your personal information. While some of these rights apply generally, certain rights apply only in certain limited cases. I describe these rights below:

  • Access. You may have the right to access and receive a copy of the personal information I hold about you by contacting me using the contact information below.

  • Change, restrict, delete. You may also have rights to change, restrict my use of, or delete your personal information. Absent exceptional circumstances (like where I am required to store data for legal reasons) I will generally delete your personal information upon request.

  • Object. You can object to (i) my processing of some of your information based on my legitimate interests and (ii) receiving marketing messages from me after providing your express consent to receive them. In such cases, I will delete your personal information unless I have compelling and legitimate grounds to continue using that information or if it is needed for legal reasons.

  • Complain. If you reside in the EU and wish to raise a concern about my use of your information (and without prejudice to any other rights you may have), you have the right to do so with your local data protection authority.

Personal data that I process for any purpose or purposes shall not be kept for longer than is necessary for that purpose or those purposes. Any personal data collected and used is accessible & controlled by you. I reserve the right to modify this privacy policy at any time, so please review it frequently. Changes and clarifications will take effect immediately upon their posting on the website.
